The COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme is being extended

The COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme is due to close on 17 April 2024. However, following the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) update published on 13 December 2023, the Australian Government has made the decision to extend the closing date of the Scheme until 30 September 2024.
Claims for compensation under the Scheme may continue to be lodged until 30 September 2024. Existing claims and claims received prior to that date will continue to be processed however, no new claims for compensation under the Scheme will be accepted after 30 September 2024.
The revised end date of the Scheme has been reflected in the Scheme literature including the Scheme Policy, the Scheme Overview, the Guidance for Eligible Conditions, Guidance for Administration Harm and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
