THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship
THANZ is committed to supporting academic excellence and encouraging scholarly achievement in PhD students undertaking studies in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis. The THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship top-up funding and will be awarded based on academic merit and PhD students who hold an externally funded, competitive postgraduate research scholarship are eligible to apply. Applications for the THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship open early in the academic year. Successful applicant(s) will receive a stipend of $15,000 AUD annually, for up to 3 years.
The THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship is open to PhD students undertaking their PhD candidature in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis. To be eligible to apply for the THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship, students need to have been awarded a minimum three-year, competitive external postgraduate scholarship, such as the Research Training Program (RTP), the NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship, or similar. In principle, students can only apply for the THANZ Novo Nordisk PhD Scholarship in the first year of their candidature, at the same time as they enrol for PhD candidature.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a PhD student enrolled in a PhD program undertaking studies in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis at an approved Australian or New Zealand University.
- Have completed an MBBS/MBChB or a BSc/BMSc (Hons) degree (or the equivalent).
- Have been awarded a competitive external postgraduate scholarship (e.g. RTP, NHMRC Scholarships etc.).
- Be a member of THANZ.
- Agree to provide a report to THANZ upon completion of their PhD.
Candidates are not eligible to apply if they are in receipt of another equivalent award/top up/stipend, in addition to their postgraduate scholarship or under obligation to an existing sponsor.
